October 2023

Hello and welcome to fall…

Have you decided what you are going to be for Halloween yet? As many of you know, my birthday is the day after Halloween so this has always been a VERY important holiday in my life. This year I am going to rent a costume from Wyatt’s theater group, Light’s Up and will visit their inventory closet on Oct 28th to decide. Let me know if you need a costume too and I will send you the details.

School and sports and all the kiddo stuff is bustling right along. Theater, swim team, flag football, club soccer, homework, and lots of screens. Arrrrggggg screens…we are all guilty, aren’t we? I strive personally to have a balance between keeping up, logging off and staying current. We have frequent discussions about parameters for our teen and 10-year-old to engage with their friends online and also to stay safe and engaged without a screen nearby…the battle and discussions continue…so do the nightly booing of neighborhood kids knocking on our front door and leaving candy and running (or e-biking_ away! Mesa life…we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Real estate continues to chug along despite the national news and interest rates. Can you believe that people still want to live in Santa Barbara? I am hearing about more companies requiring their employees to return to their big city offices, while my husband’s company just decided to lease out their space and allow everyone to continue remote work. I have several lovely listings that I am excited to showcase and are waiting for their next owner. One is a downtown condo on Laguna Street that would be a fantastic weekend/2nd home or place to downsize. The other new listing is an updated 3-bedroom home in the Hidden Valley neighborhood that will attract some serious trick-or-treaters.

Thank you for reading as always and have a great rest of your fall and Halloween! I will report back next newsletter with what I decide on in the costume department…

Sincerely,

Elizabeth
