Tucked away near the top of Mission Canyon, located on Edgemound, a road that many Santa Barbara locals- like myself have rarely visited is this diamond in the rough property. The vibe of the property is country, private, quiet yet surrounded by kind neighbors that love the little canyon they call home. My clients are very excited to live here and make this magical space their own.
When you arrive at the property, there is a moment of stunned silence as you take in your surroundings and try to get your bearings with the incredible views. Mature sycamore and oak trees surround the canyon and hawks soar past on the thermals and soaring over the close by peaks. The wild yellow mustard is a blaze of color on the rolling hills and the Channel Islands look close enough to reach out and touch.
The home, set on a wooded 1+ acre offers endless possibilities. There are currently three bedrooms and two bathrooms in the main house. There is also a detached and updated one bedroom, one bathroom guest house that was renovated in 2020.Separating the two is a lovely deck and outdoor area shaded by mature oak trees.
The house is all about the windows with these views and there are many picture windows that sweep through the house flooding it with natural light, cross breezes and all the colors of the day. Knotty pine paneling and wood floors complete the rustic ambiance. Past the wraparound brick porch, you enter the large living room with a wood burning fireplace.
Behind the kitchen that has a breakfast bar is one of the three bedrooms. Upstairs are two more bedrooms–1 with an art nook –and full bath. There are multiple outdoor patios and plenty of trees for forts and play. The whole vibe is natural, private, rural and groovy.
